Guanaco

There are few wild members of the camelid family left in South America. The guanaco is one and lives on the high, near barren plains, of Chimborazo. Photos of these animals are easily had from the road that passes the entrance gate to the park. Please remember that though these animals are related to domesticated llamas and alpacas, they are wild and should not be approached. This photo was taken with a long lens.
