Award-winning author Carlos Carrion has written several works of literature including The Heart Is An Animal In Heat, a collection of existential short stories, and The Desires That Carry Your Name, a novel about a middle-aged professor forced to confront his own misogyny. Carrion was born and raised in Loja. Meeting Carrion serves as a unique way for expats to better understand the traditions and history that make Loja the cultured city it is today.
