About Carlos Carrion

Award-winning author Carlos Carrion has written several works of literature including The Heart Is An Animal In Heat, a collection of existential short stories, and The Desires That Carry Your Name, a novel about a middle-aged professor forced to confront his own misogyny. Carrion was born and raised in Loja. Meeting Carrion serves as a unique way for expats to better understand the traditions and history that make Loja the cultured city it is today.

This event is tailored toward English-speaking literature aficionados interested in meeting Carlos Carrion in person. Please arrive prepared to discuss at least some of Carrion’s work (available in English translation in the links below) and to ask questions of this esteemed author.
